Ship

Your ship is out to sea,
Lost amongst her swell.
I watch as you are thrown,
Tossed and saturated.

Your body is out of kilt,
Tired from fighting the tempest.
I watch as you bleed,
Wounded and defeated.

Your mind is out of touch,
Maddened by the relentless black.
I watch as you are stupefied,
Overwhelmed and sedated.

Your soul is out of time,
Belittled by the ebbing tides.
I watch as you are taken,
Consumed and darkened.

Your ship went out to sea,
I watched as you didn’t return.
